The real problem is that Douglas is so old now that his once commanding and recognizable voice sounds worn and aged. This might've worked maybe 15 years ago.

Why is it the weekend edition of NBC Nightly News has a better announcer than the weeknight show? I don't understand why they don't have Les Marshak intro the M-F shows, too.

Anyone who's done ANY announcing knows that NEWS is NOT pronounced NOOZ. The 'dumbing' of American broadcasting.
