How to get better qualtity using Sony Vegas,Pinnacle Studio

This is a tutorial on how to get much better quality using sony vegas 7 or 8 and pinnacle studio 10. The pinnacle studio part of this video is for the people that use it to capture, if not then skip towards the sony vegas part.

u should record in AVI its alot better quailty because its raw video but with mpeg 1/2 it compressed the file so it looses quality

I need a little help with mine.

When I try to open the video I saved in Pinnacle Studios 12 on Sony Vegas 8.0, it says "You do not have permission to open this file. Contact the file owner or an administrator to obtain permission".

But I made the video on my computer.

Any help please?

I always used mpeg 1/2, but i tryed out mpeg4 and found the quality was better . however , Its only allows you to capture to 4:3 which was a real piss take, I would then use vegas to make the vid 16:9 , however , I dont think you can then use Black bars at the top and bottom ,
