I do miss the death metal days though, but I can't deny the fact that this album is more amazing each time I hear it. Shit, you guys act like Akerfedt didn't spend about twenty years playing brutal ass tunes. Don't like it? Stop saying RIP and go make something better.

I was worried when I heard that Opeth wasn't playing metal on the new album, but now that I've given the whole cd a listen three times around, I can say it's actually a nice change. Of course there are fellow fans that will abandon Opeth for how they've changed, but oh well. Not everyone can appreciate good music and broaden their horizons, so there's no point in arguing.

First of all fuck the op. Secondly, this album is easily as amazing as any other album they've done musically, if not more so. And lastly, they could put out a fucking polka album and it would still be one of the best releases of the year. Either you like good music or you don't.
