@HeyFeddie Sounds like a good idea. Last time i checked the 204 cant be loaded faster than factory ammo in handloads because of a special powder combo, That was a while ago though so you may wanna double check. And lucky you witht the DMPS! i cant hunt with semi autos in PA. Still gonna buy one though, its the next one on my list.

@HeyFeddie As with all firearms, a backstop is a key part in taking a safe and effective shot. You shouldnt worry with a 22-250 if your rounds are smacking into the dirt and your not shooting inline with the houses, just make sure its not an fmj or military type round. If you like your bullets in the Hornady 17HMR ammo, they have the same type of round available in th 22-250 and most other varmint calibers. They are great with immediate expansion. Hogs just "pop" open when you smoke um.

@cwhitedl65 Thanks for the advice. I have been looking at that .204 round. DPMS makes it in an AR platform. Very nice but very expensive. I may just take the step up to 22-250 instead.

as much as i love my .17HMR, i moved up in the world and picked up a 22-250 Remington Model 700. They explode when you lay down the wood. The seventeen's bullet just drifts too much in the damn wind out past 150. However, the .17 still is my go to squrriel, rabbit, and rat gun

@cwhitedl65 I have been thinking about moving up in caliber lately. I like the .17 because the bullet is fragile and there is little worry about ricochet. There are house in the area so I have to be careful. Would I need to worry about that with a 22-250?
