Associate of mine and political humor blogger Vox Poplar attempts to explain what really happened in the Valerie Plame/Yellowcake Uranium brouhaha.

And while some will comment that the Uranium purchase failed and that the president knew that, the attempt was a violation of all the existing UN sanctions, and the Gulf War cease-fire terms. So even aspirations were an act of war.

Libby was found guilty of lying about a crime that even Prosecutor Fitzgerald said didn't happen. And that "lying" was basically not remembering gossiping with Tim Russert at a cocktail party.

The case will most likely be tossed on appeal since the judge refused to allow any testimony that challenged the credibility of Tim Russert's memory on the basis of a judicial hissy fit.

I figure anyone with 'Cannabis' in their name should have some understanding of memory problems.

I wish SOME would actually read something and not just listen to Fox and Rush... Plame was covert, she had two identities, and was in the lose nukes tracking business. Get a clue as to the damage that was done to the safety of the world, and stop defending Rove and Cheney when you really should know they did what was said they did. Fitzgerald couldn't pursue it, because those that were involved lied about it. Scooter fell on his sword for the gang, because he knew he'd get pardoned.

of course her suit against the bush administation has been thrown out and it seems fitzgerald couldn't indict anyone for the crime of leaking her name because it really wasn't a crime as she was not covert. so poor scooter, who made the mistake of NOT hiring a lawyer, gets convicted because he can't remember who he talked to when. only if the world of partisan politics can a man go to jail when no crime has been committed.

Read that or some other reliable source and stop spouting crap to defend the traitors who placed their personal agendas ahead of America and it's constitution.
