@sniper1334 This is true at higher speeds. However, the concern is not with cars traveling at 30 MPH or faster. Rather, it is with cars at slower speeds that you would get at urban intersections, turning corners, or in parking lots. The safety studies by NHTSA have shown that the increase in pedestrian crashes for hybrids is only at lower speeds. Go out sometime to a street corner with a blind person and see how well they can detect hybrids versus other cars at 25 MPH and slower.

@humanbeing524 just a few questions not trying to be rude but my dad has now owned 2 Prius's 2nd and now 3rd generation and have you really calculated how much you save? Figure out that you paid close to 10-15 thousand dollars more than i dunno say a Yaris which uses little gas. now calculate how much money you saved remembering that you have to spend gas in the other car too so on every 20$ of gas you're only getting an extra 5 dollars worth it takes years to get back that "saved" money
