Sondheim Follies Original Broadway Cast Prologue Reconstructed Remastered Complete

The Follies complete cast album that never was. This is the original Broadway cast of Sondheim's "Follies", remastered and reconstructed from three recordings, two studio and one live. The live is completely cleaned, and remixed from crude stereo. It includes the dialogue that is interspersed in the scene. The OC recording of "Follies" was butchered because of cost and contract issues; there is no other score so poorly represented by the original cast album with the exception (due to the practices and technology of the time) of the 1920s "Show Boat". For an example of the editing here, there are three edits in the first eight notes. This is part of the complete project (one four minute song has 34 edits to get it back to its intended length and lyric order) that will hopefully be issued...some day. Anything is possible though nothing makes sense. There are almost no visuals here deliberately - LISTEN.

@burleq No modesty here - I know. Since a statue is unlikely, grape products would at least be ingestible. This project is the greatest cast album ever done, just a pity that I had to do it instead of Goddard Lieberson or Shephard with the cast in a proper studio. Some form of this will be issued, some day.

I love the rise in music following Dorothy Collins' short monologue. It breaks my heart everytime. It's a musical illustration of her naivete and what's to follow for the rest of the show in terms of mood. Qué bueno.
