Hello and welcome to Wales Shark
as we say in Wales.

Now back in November I had a message from
a youtuber named Welshcornish
who asked me to discuss old Welsh Christmas traditions.

I realised that I don't know any old Welsh Christmas traditions.

So instead I decided to take a camera around the place
everywhere I went and film everything I see if something Christmassy
comes up.

Here's the results of my project.

On a rainy day I walked around Pontypridd with a camera.
I'm starting with this footage because it's a little bit weak.
These lights are the main effort of the town.
and even though they are on their own,
they extend over all of the town.
a little like a yellow brick road above your head
but one that goes in a circle instead of taking you somewhere interesting

The tree is quite nice, and it was decorated with a number of cards originally,
but they've fallen off and being ruined by the wind and the rain.
The tree is in Wales, and in Wales the wind and the rain are things you can't avoid.

Also here are some decorations that are pretty lonely in Pontypridd
in a window by the river, it makes me sad to see these decorations

Cardiff's decorations were much better to tell the truth, but I failed to take a camera
with me because i am such a sensible person

and this was the only picture i took as I escaped the Capital City

I saw a tree in a unique place in Church Village swell, sitting on the Parish Hall
this is right by a bus stop I catch every day and I pleasantly wasted a number of minutes through December
looking at this tree to help me ignore the cold and the rain.

But the best decorations I saw throughout the entire month were these ones in Porthcawl
They were sitting outside a hotel by the sea, and if you can see here, here are the three wise men, and they've never looked so racist

Here's the mother and father of the baby jesus portrayed beautifully using the material from cushions

and here are the shepherds, with their famous huge hands, looking in horror at the star.

Well done you, whichever hotel you are.

Traditional Christmas fare.

To finish the video here's what I saw when I went to the christmas craft fayre in Gartholwg.

This was perhaps the most traditional thing I did this year.

Here's a lady playing the harp, there's no one thing more welsh than that

and here's a number of stands that were around the place that day

Adam! Adam! Is upstairs open?

NO.

Now there's not a crumb of religion in me, and I also haven't decorated the house at all, as you can see.

No decorations, at all, except for christmas cards

but, having said that, i am very fond of christmas, and i've finished work for the year, and i'm just about to go home to see my family.

So i'm sorry, but I want to stop here, like this. Merry Christmas.
