@JamesTKirkCobain Largely bedridden, York battled not only his back pain but an addiction to prescription pain killers.
In his memoir, The Seesaw Girl and Me, published posthumously, he describes the struggle to break his addiction and to come to grips with the loss of his career. The book is in large part a love letter to his wife, Joan (née Alt), the seesaw girl of the title, who stuck with him through the hard times. York eventually beat his addiction and tried to revive his career.

@JamesTKirkCobain...For the 1969-70 season, he was replaced in the TV series by actor Dick Sargent, who held the role until the series ended in 1972.

@JamesTKirkCobain...That's not what happened to him He suffered a debilitating back injury on the set of "They Came to Cordura" caused him increasing pain, so in some of his final episodes on the show the script was written around his being in bed or on the couch for the entire episode. During the fifth season on the sitcom, he collapsed on the Bewitched set and was rushed to a hospital. From his hospital bed, he resigned from the show to devote himself to recovery.

sure this isn't Bewitched?

Oh wow, Dick York from Bewitched. That dude utterly and completely destroyed his life through drugs. After Bewitched he ended up on welfare utterly broke and dying of emphysema in some homeless shelter. They fired him in the middle of that Bewitched 8 year run and replaced him with Dick Sargent because he was too wasted all the time. Just goes to show, you waste your time and money getting wasted, that`s it, it`s all over pal. Nobody is going to give a shit if you don`t clean up your act.
I'm not sure my friend, what you think he he

Well what the heck is Clint's problem? has he never seen a woman dancing before?
JediSawyer 1 year ago
@JediSawyer LOL, Good question!. It's because some big trouble was taking place and as I remember that wasn't quite a good time to dance or party, something like that =S

How the heck do these two do this and then a year or so later they have a tv show doing the same act?!

Excuse me my usual lack of memory, friend, but what act exactly did they do a year or so later?
luchten 2 years ago
Well, after this something called I dream of Gene. something like that........

Well, you are refering to I dream of Jeannie, and the actor who co-stared with her is Larry Hagman, not Dick York. Wake up friend, this show is from your country hehe
