It is not accidental arc lamp designed in the 19th century?
-
I don't mean this specific model of lamp. I mean any "incandescent arc lamp" type lamp. Also, do these need a ballast to run?
-
@trianero2009 That's awesome! I thought it would have a buzz or hum to it.
-
It was developed especially for microscopes, as simply, small light source. The tungsten balls works in nitrogenium athmosphere, wishes reduce visible light from arc. The lamp works at 55 volts, 2 amps, or I use succesfully ballast Hg 125W.

These types of lamps generate more light from the heating of the tungsten ball than from the arc itself. That's why they call them incandescent arc lamps.

Really good! It seems that have a higher eficience compared to other kind of models from that time. Why it wouldn't had made after? Should have a big amount of UV radiation or need auxiliar devices to run?
Where can I get one of these?

@BankaiIchigo12345 This lamp is extremely rare piece. So ones a two years it is possible buy in any auction, but the price is up to 500 USD, depend on the level of conservation. New, unused is very rare.

This lamp was made around 1930 year and don´t have any similar continuation. So if I want light it, I use 125 watt ballast for mercury discharge lamp.
