Singer: Sissel Kyrkjebo
Rolf Løvland (music), Brendan Graham (lyrics)

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

  • @adelutzaeu No! Sissel has *always* been a *much* better singer than Celine.

  • )PURE! Sweet and pure! Her soprano vocals sound "natural", not " forced" like so many others sound. I would be afraid to see & hear her in concert. I am so hopelessly in love with her now that my old heart might not survive the excitement of seeing and hearing her in person.

  • Sissel is one of a kind and Celine is one of a kind. They can't be compared!

  • @tuulia93 true...true... Celtic Woman is better at this song. I agree with Nachtvlinder 74.

  • OH PRAISE GOD ...BEAUIFUL GOLRY TO GOD

  • Celtic women are no where as good as Sissel. I've heard Celtic in concert.

  • Sissel sings this song better than any other singer. Why always compare? Just sit back and enjoy her angelic voice. She brings so much joy into my life,
