Neal is amazing. Alternadad is such a good book and he's a great blogger. Also, Elijah is too cute.

More buzzword branding lifestyle re-packaging from narcissist central, Los Angeles.

Didn't anyone at Nightline notice that hipster alternadad is in fact just a paunchy, balding, mainstream doofus?

Alternative to what? Common sense and dignity?

God I hate this crap. HATE IT. Child-centered America. BLARGHH. If you think these people are narcisists, wait until their little goblins are adults, and they will redefine self-centeredness.

Loved Alternadad, but why is Nightline trying to make it seem like this is some sort of a movement? (And why do they seem kind of disdainful of it?)

I agree with Regina; so-called "hipster parenting" is little more than cultural consumption. And there's nothing new or unusual about indoctrinating kids into their parents' culture of choice. Really, I don't see how this is much different from getting kids involved in sports or beauty contests or horseback riding or whatever.
