Nithyananda tells us we currently live with two identities -- one that you project to the outside (Ego) and the identity you project towards yourself (inferiority complex). You meet your true self, which is beyond these two identities at the junction of the two breaths. You touch this pure inner space which is beyond these two identities. Sometimes we fail to realize the divine within us and I believe that this is the root cause of most of our problems. By turning devotion towards us, we are actually recognizing the divine within us.
