Although President Obama repeatedly promised to ensure complete transparency in the health reform negotiations, this has not been the case. Congressional leaders have repeatedly drafted and negotiated health reform legislation behind closed doors.

This week both the Washington Times and the Wall Street Journal reported that Congressional leaders will likely bypass the formal public conference committee process and hash out the differences between the House and Senate health care bills behind closed doors, away from the public eye.

Since both chambers passed two different bills, negotiators must work to pass one uniform bill before it can be sent to the President for his signature. Votes in both the House and Senate were extremely tight and several issues must be reconciled before final passage including abortion, taxes, cuts to Medicare, and the public option. It appears the Democrats wish to do this outside of public scrutiny to speed up the process in hopes of getting it done and signed into law before the President makes his State of the Union speech. This is far from Mr. Obamas pledge to keep the health care reform process open and transparent.

  • Doesn't matter whether it's televised or not. The whole thing is a major swindle, unconstitutional and anything BUT about health care. This is why Dems will be un-elected this year and through 2012.

  • @welovesarahpalin

I'm going to try one last time. Why am I blocked?

  • Obama finally grew some spine!!

Big gov. for the people fights against the big corporate.

  • So, what's the solution? Sara palin?

    glenn beck? trash limpbow?

  • its time for him to resign and get a real job !!! And only then can we get skammers like him out of a position of power

  • HCR Healthcare reform, Candidate Obama's promise will come true! We will get "to see who is making negotiations on behalf of the Insurance Companies... transparent and accountable to the American people." Stop whining Rep. John Kline and present your solution.

  • The ONLY reform we need is to get government completely out of the medical business. If you're 40 years old you should be told that there won't be Medicare for you...contribution to Medical Health Care accounts should be unlimited, and not taxed. Medicare Taxation should be deductible. This is a $50 Trillion Bill coming due...Gov't cannot "Fix" this problem.

  • Good riddance you lying, cheating, bastard!.

  • The issue is not Conservatives versus Democrats. BOTH are as bad as each other and the real issue is to get rid of BIG government.

Under the constitution, there is no provison for left or right politics, because the law LIMITS the government and PROTECTS individual property.

  • Rebel, a LOT of Americans are doing plenty - on behalf of themselves AND those who are doing nothing.

Hook up with some email alerts from conservative and other anti dem and Obama sites. You'll see.
