  • @TheMusicFarm It would have made better sence to put a selector switch on the back of the amp...

Which side is the 8 ohm, the right side or the left side? they both indicate 4-8 0hms.

I may sound stupid asking which side is which but this is the first amp I've owned where I come across this type of no impedence switch and it would have been nice to see the ohms start at 16-8-4 maxed...

I am aware the head is always suppose to be set to a lower or equal ohms with the cab. NO switch?

  • @JBL8863 It is typically safe to mismatch one step higher.

EXAMPLE --- 8 ohm cabinet--->4 ohm jack on amp.

EXAMPLE --- 16 ohm cabinet--->8 ohm jack on amp.

But NEVER EVER EVER hook up a cabinet with a lower ohm rating than the head. You will cause your output transformer to overheat, and eventually, it will blow. Hope this helps! ~Todd

  • @TheMusicFarm Marshall slant cab...1960 Lead with G12T-75 watt drivers...I normally use the mono side 16 ohm setting but I'm confused when the back of the Dime head indicates only 8 or 4 ohm loads...

I'm guessing the Dime head gives you 8 ohms for one cab and 4 ohms for either two cabs or one cab stereo hook up. Am I right to assume this.

I just got the amp through a trade but the guy didn't give me the manual...I've tried to find a PDF file for answers but haven't had luck...

  • @JBL8863 Which Marshall cab are you using? Thanks.

  • @TheMusicFarm Curious, I own the Dime head and I am using a 4X12 Marshall cab. The cab is a Lead cab with G12T-75 watt drivers....It can switch to 4-8-16 omhs...

What should I be switching to when I use this head? The back of the heads indicates 8 and 4 ohm loads...I am only using one 4X12 cab. thanks...

  • Just have one work for everyone Tubes. so much louder than a solid state and so much more versatile than a solid state. you can get any sound out of this that you can get with a Marshall JCM 400 i don't own one but play that head every time i go into a guitar center

  • Can you control the boost from the footswitch on this amp

  • You're watching FarmTV... and I need a fuckin' TAN!!

  • I'll have to check it out, sometime, perhaps buy it. I'm from the area :)

How much is the combo selling for?

  • I play music such as The Black Dahlia Murder and in your opinion would you think this amp would sound good playing shit like that and other Death Core music?
