Clarence Clemons has been performing with Bruce Springsteen for decades. Here Clarence talks about what it means to him to play with the E Street band and Bruce Springsteen. He talks about the positive impact they have on young people, and his views on spirituality.
This is part of an interview Clarence did in August 2009 for a radio special called "Big Man Radio". The one hour special aired on radio stations around the country in October 2009. It was in celebration of Clarence's new book "The Big Man: Real LIfe and Tall Tales" that was released October 21,2009. For inquiries contact Denny Somach at dsomach@aol.com

  • You hit the nail on the head, Big Man. What you do IS very important. When I first started listening to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band during the mid-seventies, I was in junior high. I think you saved my life.

  • RIP Big Man.... a true gentle giant. Thank you for playing your heart. You will truly be missed. : (

  • There are only two times in my life that I have been really affected by the passing of a celebrity. The first was Christopher Reeve and the second was Clarence, When I heard of Reeve I could'nt believe that the man who I always looked up to as the real Superman since I was a kid, had died. When The Big Man died I started to wonder how much life real rock'n'roll had left and what happens when all your heroes die

  • Thats some cool talking man. Its true, a lot of people can make a connection emotionally with Springsteens music.

  • what a great life the big man lived.

  • RIP Big Man!

  • Keeping you and your family in our prayers, Clarence. Recover quickly. A BIG FAN- Sharon

  • @like2utube I was in junior high when I went to my first show... I think they saved my life too-- and more than once over the next 30+ years. I don't respond to medications/doctors but I've always responded to this band. It makes you realize the power/healing when the right people are brought together. On this day of Clarence's stroke I reast easier knowing he KNOWS what he's done for so many. Get well soon!

  • never heard someone talk about music in that way befor its so so true thow, iv been lisening to e street and bruce recently as i been going throw a real bad time there music has relly helped me, i'm one who can say he has helped me
