Curtis Hutson was one of my favorite preachers of all time. I have never met any Baptist preacher that was so crystal-clear on salvation like this man was. Even after his death, he is still winning souls through written work he has done, audio sermons on the internet, and the gospel written on his own tombstone. I can't wait to see him in heaven and thank him for all he has done to further the gospel. :)

I Timothy 3:16 explains that all scripture is given by inspiration of God. You are not inspired. You are indwelt by the Holy Spirit if you are saved, but Scripture is done.

  • Is the Bible the word of God?

  • You bet! :)

  • Hutson never mentions the story of Simon the Sorcerer (Acts 8:9-24) who "believed" and was confronted by Peter that "his heart was not right in the sight of God". So the bible clearly refutes what this preacher is teaching here and indeed there is such a thing as false conversions.

  • If a person does not turn from sin he never was saved. Hope Hutson was not one of the evangelists that travel making false converts. Jesus said, count the cost. It was not a sellout of the righteousness of God. But a shedding of blood and power to make perfect the saints.

  • Great Message

Yes, God is awesome, and yes, preferably A Christian will change for the better, but sometime people don't respond positively to chastisement. It's like when you chasten a child. sometimes the kid will respond in a good way or sometimes they will rebel more. I believe the Bible teaches Christians who continue to live that way will be taken home early.
