We would create an intelligent access management system, which can be used for example in office buildings, public buildings, or apartments. The device has the following features 1 People, who work in an office, can lock or unlock the room with their fingerprints. 2 People, who are not privileged to open the door, can virtually knock on the door, the people inside or the receptionist get notified, and can open the door by the click of a button. Additionally the device can be used to display user defined information on the LCD like I ll be back in 5 minutes . The device can also be used to query information about the people inside an office-room like their names and status present, not present, busy, on holiday, etc. . The user interface Fig. 1 consists of a touch-display, a fingerprint reader, special functions buttons Home, Ring, Lock, Unlock , and arrow keys. The device employs the network capabilities of the .NET Micro Framework and is connected via an Ethernet interface to the local network Fig. 2 .
