Wim Pijbes, Director of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, visited the Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney to officially open the Intensely Dutch exhibition. Here he discusses the emergence of the CoBrA movement and the artists in the exhibition. Intensely Dutch presents 50 years of modern Dutch art and includes fifteen of the most important Dutch artists of the period.

  • Hi Charliviry, the work you're referring to is by Karel Appel and is called Horizon of Tuscany #36.

    Sorry you can't make it to the show this time but perhaps you'll make it to the Art Gallery of NSW some time in the not too distant future.

  • Great show it's a shame I live on the other side of the planet. What i would like to know if poss is the artist of the painting at the entrance of the show where the "Intensely Dutch" title is and you can see in the video. thanks :)
