Special! This is special. If I ever had to choose a single game to take with me to far, far away, where there would a be a SNES, this would be the one. Secret of Mana (or Seiken Desentsu 2, 1 was on the Gameboy, you know, renamed Final Fantasy Adventure in the West) basicly made me rethink my entire concept of viodeogames and the Super Nintendo. From beginning (on the vid) to the end, there was always an incredible joy and need to go further, to see what was ahead, to move to a new part of the world, or simply to stay still and enjoy the amazing OST by Hiroki Kikuta (wich I still hear today, btw). A curious fact, this game was originaly being developed to the Super CD, the SNES CD addon wich eventualy was scrapped and Sony turned into the PSX, so most of the game was remade to fit on a single cart. I wonder how it would have looked on a CD... no one will ever know. It was also great to see this not only released in the USA but Europe as well, it was great news, and I was super thrilled the day It finnaly arrived in Portugal, immediatly picking it up. Only left my SNES when I finished it, returning to it time after time when I wanted to enjoy some more of the music. If you have never played Secret of Mana, you haven't lived. :)

  • This is the first time I saw this, does it play like Zelda? It looks like it...

  • @Psychstix Yes, but it has hidden, deeper RPG elements like leveling.

  • I made a LP for this game! :)

  • @LAMCL23 I have only made a chiptune demake for F-Zero, but already have 4 "Shiryu's Arcade" volume with several videogame remixes/covers. Also have two Dune tribute LP's, a TRON LP and EP and a Rollerball LP and EP. Any chance you could tell me where I can hear your LP? I want to cover the OST of this in the future If I can, too. =)

  • @LAMCL23 LOL sorry, my mistake, I tought you were saying a musical LP, not a Long Play video. =)

  • I was 1 when this was released. Can't wait to play it. I'm 18 and preferred Chrono Trigger to Black Ops. I will try and convert others.

  • @FALLASLEEPworld Go forth and spread the word.

  • How I miss the multi-player!

  • This is the last game I beat on my SNES before it died T-T And it was definitely the BEST

  • Such great memories, definitely one of the best I've played in the past. Compared to other games at that time, it had a great storyline, I loved the cute characters/environments and was sold when I heard the intro music. Awesome! <3

  • @ThaliaIV yeah i know. its just that when it first came out in 1993-94, it was really fun. but playing it again today is still fun, but the story kinda suck.

  • @Fantomas612 Secret of Mana was the second game in a Final Fantasy spinoff.. The one before it had more of the Final Fantasy elements.

  • WAIT WAIT WAIT!

Didn't they port this to GBA??? I remember playing this when I was like 10!

  • about the 4th grade i fell in love...the dragon breath is what caused me to come. I heard a sound similar to it through my walls, reminded me of that sound, came hear and herd it <3 For anyone who has not tried it, you must. This is the basis of games like dragon nest (without pvp) its a fast pasce action game where you level up skills/level through items found on your journey...Just dont name the 2 next characters "Ally" and "Sprite" -_- they deserve much better names than i gave them.

  • I love the intro song! So peaceful..

  • Falls down a waterfall into 3 feet of water. Gets up, walks away. Like a boss.

    Love this game.

  • FINALLY!! YESS!! I remember i was like 2-3 years old when i got this game and due to my age i was clueless to what i was supposed to do, i only managed to get the sword and i didnt ven know how to save. A year later we sold our SNES and i was still stuck at the same place, always wondering what was beyond the sword. Now that i know the name of the game i can finally find out! ^^
