  • I was in a UNION back in the 80's -what a rip off. All they wanted was the DUES. They told us to strike, so unless you wanted to be harassed by others calling you "scab" you HAD to walk out. Needless to say, the company went out of business and we ALL lost our jobs. UNION BOSSES kept THEOR job though! Don't do it people! They are a BUNCH OF THUGS and have no purpose any longer because we now have LAWS to protect workers. I was a conservative and my union supported all the democratic liberals.

  • Name calling only cheapens your arguement . I set up these videos because the union in my workplace has become sloppy , greedy and self-serving . I am in a Right to Work State and due to slack negotiations and a lack of interest we have been under-represented for years . I am the Petitioner in a successful Decertificatin campaign that resulted in roughly a 2 to 1 vote against the UFCW .

  • LMFAO

Our Union Prez gets paid $120.00/month. He has to put in a 40 to support his family.

Unfricking-believeable how clueless you anti-union maroons really are.

  • The corporations have moved large portions of their operations overseas to take advantage of cheap labor. What they haven't they move to states like Tx. Arizona, Fla, to take advantage of illegal immigrant labor. I can provide you with a list of companies that have hired and been fined for hiring coyotes to bring these people over for this purpose. As for having a contract, I think putting yourself at the mercy of an employer without one is just foolish. He holds all the cards.

  • People are following the jobs and are happy to take them - not forced, but out of their own choices weigh the salary they will get with the overall cost of living in these low tax lower cost of living states. When your cost of living is less you actually can earn less and have a better quality of life.

Those today who need "contracts" to protect themselves maybe because they don't have marketable skills, have bad attitude, just do the minimum at work. They need unions for protection.

  • People are following the jobs, my friend. The jobs aren't following the people. As far as if they want to join a union they can you have obviously never had to face off against management during an organizing drive. Or do the resturant workers just call up the local in Nevada and say "I want to be a member" and voila the employer pays him union wages and benefits. You didn't refute the second parts of my statements so I will take that as cedeing the point. (labor reform, Contracts)

  • "Corporations go where they can exploit cheap labor" - Well If you live in a high tax state you need to get paid more, the business is probably taxed and regulated more and have closed shop union rules with more than just wages but all of the union benefit / retirement costs that go with. In the RTW states people have a CHOICE and if they feel exploited they can chose to join a union. The truth is many do not. People are moving to these states for a better quality of living not to be exploited

  • Again, the why. People go were there are jobs. Corporations go where they can exploit cheap labor. Cause and effect. What is so wrong about wanting to work under a contract? You wouldn't sell your house without one. You wouldn't make any long term financial commitment without one. Why sell years of your life without one.

  • Why are "those states" Like Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Florida which not only are Right to Work states but 3/4 have no state income tax either. You want to talk about lack of poverty when the government and unions don't tap your paycheck. This is why people are moving there. States like Michigan, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, etc with big unions have people leaving in droves and unemployment higher than nat'l average - refute those facts. BTW brain dead people join unions.

  • Yes, lets look at those states. where do they rank in education? what percentage of the population live below the poverty line. And of course the jobs are there. industry has pulled up stakes and moved to those states or overseas. If it weren't for organized labor there would be no child labor laws, forty hour weeks, or a host of saftey improvements. If you think corporate america gives a rats ass about the working men and women of america you are either a white collar ostrich or brain dead
