Dual Carrier Jump In

The old effect was supposed to look like you're jumping in from a distant point in space, but the ship's rotation on arrival made it look totally fucked up. But yea, i wish they fixed THAT instead of replacing everything with a generic wormhole jump animation...
I also miss the old warp effect that didn't look like you're flying down the shrinkwrap tube... seriously, they did some serious graphics nerfing for no particularly good reason =(

would be cool if ccp used jump effects like in Babylon 5

@ertyqwer The idea was that when a ship emerges out of a cyno beacon, it is still composed of tachyon waves. It must expel that tachyon energy in order to regain stability, and that is the equivalent of that generic wormhole animation. The same idea there works in reverse when a ship jumps through a gate and so forth; at the same time, the old effect was nice, but it caused loads of lag on the server as well as straining the general constraints of the EVE Online application.

pretty
how much does it cost to jump?

Depends on the ship, but most capital ships require 1000 isotopes per light year, which is reduced by skill. Properly trained up you'll use 6-7000 for an average jump.

are isotopes expensive?

Varies depending on the regional market but they're about 400 isk per unit. Filling a carriers fuel bay can cost a few million.
