Ask why, asshole.

@MegaSmallPeople You must have been a new hire who didn't live through continual reorganization and rank and yank. The ENRON management was evil at it's core from day one. Ever hear the testimony of Mike Muckleroy who was the ENRON Vice Chairman and QUIT because of the criminal actiivity of KEN LAY and testified that Lay was involved in major embezzlement in the mid eighties? Does Valhalla, NY ring a bell or EOTT or EOG or Azurix. Is that what you mean by great boss?

@shalom1973 One of Ken Lay's sons buddies was caught snorting a nose full in a restroom in the basement of the ENRON HQ building. Lay covered it up.

The weather prediction at ENRON was actually started by the subsidiary, Northern Natural Gas, to try to predict the need for natural gas during the winter to insure supply and to get the best price for gas. They has scientists from the US Air Force Global Weather Center at SAC HQ in Omaha. Under Ken Lay, they spun off the science which became...Accuweather. NNG is still around back in Omaha owned by Warren Buffett and they still predict weather.

@artvandelayist Actually you are only partially correct. BEFORE Lay and Skilling it was a wonderful country. It took them fifteen years to run it into the ground with bad management, poor HR policies and catastrophic business errors. Just a few: selling Northern Petrochemical which tripled in value six months after, the Dabhol power plant, Wessex water project and the WAR in Afghanistan which was started by BUSH to help ENRON who was his #1 supporter in 2000.

They had the BEST commercials. Oh, and weather default swaps were a great idea, and they're still in use today. They allow companies to purchase insurance on weather that could impact their bottom line. If they weren't so damned unethical and gambling addicts, they might still be a great American company. It's a shame that all those people got screwed.

Bet those fuckers had more cocaine than Charlie Sheen
You can surely predict the weather better then Arthur Anderson's next business venture
