Demo recording by Amsterdam-based band the Rainy Days, ca. 1990. Rogier van Bakel, vocals and guitar; Eric Blom, keyboards and vocals; Gilles Graafland, guitar, keyboards, and vocals; Maarten Ruijter, bass and vocals. The Rainy Days were a studio-only band spawned by Kafblau, a staple of the Dutch live scene in the eighties. "Forbid the Rainy Days," the song that gave the band its name, marked a transition to more melodic, introspective material for these four musicians, and a departure from the heavy and sometimes cacophonous alternative rock they had pioneered previously. The Rainy Days disbanded when singer and primary songwriter Rogier van Bakel emigrated to the United States in late 1991.
