Papua New Guinean musician Richard Mogu shows off his incredible fingerpicking bass talent here in an epic performance at Melbourne's Fairfax Studio (at the Victorian Arts Centre), as part of the Australasian World Music Expo 2009. It was difficult to capture just how moody and intense this music was, and how rapturous the audience response, but we hope you like watching the performance all the same.
This song, "Kini Male", was written by drummer Airileke Ingram.
Richard Mogu sings in a combination of tongues - English, Tok Pisin and his traditional language. Enjoy!
There are so many like him, BASS GUITARISTS in PNG but not in spotlight, if only CHM accept all da Demos then truth will revil. Gud on you Richie.
