How sad...

@dropped99silverado LOOOOOOOOL OMG DUDE YOUR EPIC! ^^

That's probably what I'm refering to. One of the guys I work with tunes with his o-scope, and it displays sine waves in real time, refresh rate of 0.10s.
-
Actually, u dont need a O-scpoe, you will need a RTA or Real Time Analizer, to "see" when the distorsion begins, before u hear it.
A perfect example is the AudioControl RTA.
-
And you know what else? It's NOT possible to ruin a subwoofer by feeding it less power. The only danger coming from that is during tuning, in which audible tuning requires hearing for audible distortion and since signal clipping isn't audible, you're distorting before you even hear it. So as long as you have an O-scope and you know how to use it, the danger of ruining a subwoofer or amplifier by running less power to a sub is non existent.
-
Your comment sounds kinda dumb. Let me help you out. The only way the voice coils on a subwoofer will overheat is if you run more power than a voice coil can handle thermally, either by clipping the signal (in which harm can only be done to a woofer rated no more than 50% greater RMS power handling than the amplifier) or substantially overpowering the woofer by playing it @ 45hz for extended periods of time.

@DanK420rEeFa Are you retarded? The higher the volume, the higher the wattage gets. What the fuck is "if you don't supply enough impedance"? Wow dude you need to do some more research. Your subs are the ones that control the impedance and your amplifier is the one that accepts it. If it's incorrect, it would be the amplifier that fucks up.
-
@DanK420rEeFa if that was true your subs would go bad playing at low volume levels. what do you think happens when you turn the volume down? the wattage also goes down. the higher the volume the more watts you push
@USERX15
Well, lets get some facts straight because you are obviously a little slow. So I will take a different approach this time. WHEN DID I SAY IT WOULD TAKE THE SAME POWER FREE AIR? YOU ASSUME, AND YOU KNOW WHAT THE FIRST THREE LETTERS ARE OF ASSUME, PROBALLY NOT SO I WILL HELP YOU OUT. ASS. You think I don't know about loading? I probably have more knowledge in my left nut then you have period. I will let you get back to your e-thugging, you youtube ass noob.

KEY WORDS = "with enough power ", you fucking idiot. You can blow a sub in an enclosure with right power. Free airing a subwoofer does not hurt it if you do not reach mechanical or thermal limits.
