Costar Tech BlueSTAR Demo

Demo of a BlueSTAR PNP purchased from Costar Technologies. If you have a GM vehicle with an inactive, analog OnStar system, the BlueSTAR PNP lets you use your Bluetooth-compatible cellphone with the in-cabin components of the OnStar system. This means you can answer and terminate calls with the original OnStar buttons on the rear view mirror and talk hands-free courtesy of the builit-in overhead microphone with the call audio playing through the car stereo.

On the Cadillac CTS, the "talking head" button on the steering wheel and the voice memo functions no longer work. Of course, you will also lose all of the functionality provided by OnStar, so you don't want to do this to a subscribed system.

@splandreth at 3:56 you can see me hang up using the On* button. Its not like you can voice dial or anything. Although, who knows, now that I moved on from the Bold to a Nexus One, I can get the phone to take over the stereo by pushing one of the buttons, maybe it is listening for voice commands. I will have to go back and check it out in more detail.

why didn't you do something with the buttons on the miror, so we can see how all of the functionality works?

Thats cool i have onstar but i have bluetooth also
