that said, .looking at the comments, as a youtube viewer and a basically rational person I have had it with the right-wing religious nuts thrusting their "you're going to bun in hell" schtick. It's irrelevant, it's old, it's untrue, and it's indicative of the scare tactics a third grade teacher woudl use. Believe what you want, nobody is trying to force you otherwise, UNLIKE you, who don't seem to grasp the basic fact that America is a republic democracy and NOT a theocracy!

the whole problem arises from the fact that the government "recognizes" marriage in the first place...the very definition used for marriage is a religious one and thus should have no place in law...you want to solve the problem quit giving government benefits (and the rare penalties) to people (tax breaks etc.) based on marital status then the issue becomes entirely religious and thus pointless...

The bible was not written by god, it was written by man. We can't use a 1500 year old document that Catholics edited to fit their agenda as law. Simple as that. So, please, quit saying gays are going to Hell. Jesus never said a word about homosexuality. Or abortion, for that matter. So, I'd you really claim to follow Jesus, do it. Words mean nothing, actions mean everything. I assume all of you are still in favor and slavery as well. Let's move forward in society.

Love is following Christ, Jesus said if you love Him, you will obey His laws.

One of such laws is that No man shall lie with a man as a woman.

Scripture strictly prohibits sodomy AKA homosexuality or homophilia.

Leviticus (18:22) and 1 Timothy (1:8-11).

So, true love means telling people who are sodomites of their sin, and to offer help.

To tell them to choose a true love of Christ and reject sodomy.

That is true love, not acceptance of sin, but rejection of it.

Wasn't it Jesus who said that "love will cover a multitude of sins"? I watch this video and see nothing but love. I read this response and see intolerance and hate ("I wipe my feet of you'???), more of the devil than of Christ.

One of the most inspirational videos i've seen relating toward gay equality. I enjoy going back to this video once in a while to see, to realize that people's minds can change, they do evolve. People who fight so hard to block equality will be remembered in history as such; blocking progress and creating unnecessary conflict. We really need to support equality, for ourselves, our neighbors, our friends and family and society.

How incredible. I feel like truly brave men of conviction are so few and far between these days that just seeing this video is wonderfully refreshing. Mayor Sanders, you are a hero and I am so proud that elected officials like you live in my state.

I applaud mayor Sanders for changing his position in gay marriage, but I can't help but think this is sort of indicative of conservatives. They can't empathize with those that they consider out groups, unless those so-called out groups are their loved ones. Like I said, I'm glad he changed his mind, but would he have if his daughter hadn't been gay? I doubt it.
