How to make your own dog-walk... GH style

I was just kind of making it up as I went along and I think it turned out pretty well.

Just acouple things to keep in mind-

1-The 2" pvc pipe is alot harder to cut than the 3/4 I'd wear a mask while doing it too... I didn't and ended up inhaling a whole bunch of pvc shavings

2-Saw's are sharp, be careful and please try not to injure yourself while doing this

3-I'd use thick wall and furniture grade pvc pipe if you can.

So yeah, I know the audio is... weird. But those are the only 2 youtube friendly songs I have, if it bugs you just turn off the volume.

Clips and pics (c) to me

I'll have a color coded diagram posted eventually

  • Also aty 5:08, are the long pices that you put into the elbows, 23 inches or what are the lengths for those? I am a ilttle confused =(

  • @Court22132 At 5:08, that's..... Oh! That's the length of the base. So It's not the height, but it's how long I wanted each base to be. I think I ended up doing 3 feet? That way the weight of the DW was really spread out on the two bases. On 6:31 that's the height of the dog walk minus 3 inches. So you'll need to look up the venue you do agility for and see how high they have theirs set.

  • do you have to use pvc pipe for this?

  • @LabAgilityRocks I know quite a few people that have made bases out of wood. I personally have no experience with it though

  • Hi where did you get the peice of wood to go on it from?

  • @xnicolex135 I got the wood from Lowes :)

  • I have the exact same pair of blue chairs!

  • If one wanted to build this out of furniture-grade PVC and a few 3-way fittings (fewer parts), one could order the PVC elements from formufit.com. I have ordered from them before to make agility jumps and weave poles, and they have some really nice stuff.

  • emmm thx for the video, really ussefull, but, wtf is that fucking music? thx god for mute :S

  • Do you think it can hold an Australian kelpie or border collie?

is it storng enough for breeds like that??

And thanks for sharing all you're videos they are so great!

  • How many pieces of 2" long PVC pipe do you need to make both of the bases?

  • @PhotographSingAct It depends. Dog agility boards are competition length of 12'. Some people get by with 8 for practice...6' seems very small, but it's up to you. Some 4-H clubs make their own equipment so you'll have to see what your local club uses. good luck!!

  • How tall is the PVC in the middle of it when it's finished, the height. I want to half it because I have 4-h dogs, and if I half the height do I also half the wood?

  • @sinclairl123 How much does your goat weigh? Great danes do agility, this should support her, but you should maybe use thick PVC and strong wood.

  • i am making this for my goat to u think the wood u used will saport her

  • @MACHGreyhound Please don't reply to my comment lol i kind of posted it without realizing what this video was about...
