[Part 2 of 3] Glen singing a (new?) song whose title has yet to be confirmed, but a NYTimes article has it as "Friend/Enemy" so I'm gonna go with that for now. His third song of the set, after Races and Your Heart's Not In It (title also unknown/unconfirmed) with Doveman in The Burgundy Stain Sessions (with special guests Sam Amidon, Beth Orton, St. Vincent). Friday, January 14th 2011.

  • did you catch the parts about Chuck Berry and how he met Thomas? God, this was a great show. kind of wish people had filmed parts besides Glen's set, 'cause EVERYBODY was killing it. Sam and Beth especially.

  • @tylermbussey I know, I regretted not recording Beth's set, especially the first song (d'you happen to know the name of it btw?). But I didn't know how long the show would run and I was scared of running out of memory on my cam and having to delete stuff, so I just recorded Glen's set :(

  • @ticksspoon I think it was "Safe in Your Arms"?

  • @tylermbussey "Safe in Your Arms" was second. I think the first song may have been new. Then again, I'm not familiar enough with her music to be able to make that call with any certainty :P

  • another Great One from Mr. Hansard. I mean, really. Does this guy ever write a bad song??

  • beautiful! ;-)

  • thank you so much i didnt know if you were recording or not. i was so hang up to his lips at this moment

  • Ya know Friend?Enemy while not formally recorded can't really be considered a new song as I know I've come upon it before and the lyrics have been on Irishmusiccentral for a few years now. Interesting huh. Maybe, if we're lucky it and Races and Hearts Not In It and. . .and. . . WILL get recorded and we can steep ourselves in a new set of their songs.

BTW thanks for sharing with those of us who couldn't be there.

  • she definitely played at least one new song. and the last one was "Central Reservation" so if she only played three, there you have it. I forget if it was three or four!
