I like how Isles coach Al Arbour just calmly walks off the bench chewing his gum while everyone else at Nassau is going CRAZY after such a dramatic game like that:-)

@dzanier All NYR actually did was foreshadow end of Isles dynasty because #2 team struggling so much vs #7 team can't regroup to win a Cup (except if an early game was lost because of injuries or a flukey play or if lower rank teams help them out later on by knocking out main competition). NJ won 4 road series to get 1995 Cup (strike year), Isles won 3 road series to take 1980 Cup (an unusual playoff format year), every other season road mileage always grinds down a playoff underdog.

I'm a Rangers' fan & I think I speak for the majority of Rangers' fans when I say that I DEARLY want the Islanders to stay. The team has too much history & though it's not what it used to be, the rivalry with the Rangers is still like nothing else. A lot of it is memories, but those memories are so important to the history of New York sports and the NHL. I want the Isles to stay right there on Long Island & I sincerely hope they do. I can understand why you cry watching this.

@ECWnWWF The Islander fans are disgusted with Nassau County and knowing we will have our harts ripped out when they are moved. It is a disgrace what has happened. Move them to a place where the local government cares. Corrupt Nassau County has allowed a travesty. The fans are there, we are pissed! I cry when I watch this stuff. I can take them sucking but I cant take knowing we are definately gonna lose our beloved Islanders.

That's a thought that's run through my mind before. Even though they finished 4th in the Patrick Division with 93 points they were about 7th overall in the league & at times that year looked like a GREAT team. They were a skating team & they could run teams out of the building. The team they would've played in Round 2, Washington, had a better record than them but judging by how they played vs. the Isles that was very doable, & then Montreal was very beatable. Then would've come the finals.

@dzanier the rangers might have been the third best team in hockey behind the islanders and edmonton the 84 rangers team was real good and if not for the islanders they may have played in the finals
