John G. Osborn, president and founder of the Hoop City Jazz Festival, wants "jazz music to have a home here in Springfield." More than 30,000 people attend the Hoop City Jazz Festival every year and Osborn wants it to become a "destination event." He wants people to "come to Springfield, take advantage of our restaurants, stay in our hotels." Osborn believes, "Anything that enhances the cultural life of your city is always of a great benefit." The Hoop City Jazz Festival is just one event that enhances the cultural life of Springfield, but Osborn is challenging others to get involved. "It's all about everybody contributing whatever they can, to make Springfield a better place to live, and work, and play."
Thank you for the 2011 Hoop City Jazz & Art Festival, John!!! It was amazing!! I can't wait for next year.
