@Disneyballerina Shirley did play the "mean girl" in THE BLUE BIRD (1940).

I love that -"I'm very self reliant - my mother told me to always be that way." Totally groundbreaking for 30's when women were taught to rely on men, that they must get married to have someone to take care of them, etc. Shirley really spurred self confidence in girls! :)

i watched this when i was little ! good times! this reminds me of when i was going to Eritrea to go to my grandma's farm i thought the farm would be like this but i was wrong

It seems like in all her movies she is seen as perfect by everyone. Even though she was practically perfect in every way in reality, I would like to see if she could act mean and be a 'bad guy' for once. But maybe she's just too cute...

this is one of my favorite shirley temple movies!!!!!! thanks so much for putting this on here. shirley temple....omg there was truly no kid as cute as she was, and no woman as beautiful.
