Printing less, turning off the computers and using eco-friendly office supplies are some of the things you might have heard offices doing in a bid to go green.

But one office has gone that step further in reducing their carbon footprint. A company in Tokyo has blown the roof off their green policies – really, quite literally.

The firm Kokuyo has ordered all its employees to spend a third of their working hours outside on a rooftop terrace.

The "garden office" as it's known, is now the workplace for its 140 employees come rain or shine. But the kind bosses of the firm do provide their workers with blankets if it's cold and sunglasses and sun cream in the summer.

If you're thinking about following in their footsteps, you'll need more than garden furniture. The BT Synergy5500 phone is a perfect start to your outdoor office. It's cordless and gives you up to 10 hours talk time. Plenty to do a third of your day's work outside.
