The second part will be finished and uploaded very soon, which will be a lot more interesting since that's when we start drawing.
I know this part is pretty anti-climactic. I realize now that all I do the first half of the video is talking with a blank canvas. But hopefully, this will come in handy for some of you out there.

I have plans on making a regular deviation-tutorial about the workspace and so on.

  • Very awesome video. :) Informative, too. (I will make sure to change my keyboard settings).

Is it ever possible to draw a circle with a tablet pen? I've had my tablet several weeks and I've been trying but it just. doesn't. work.

I'm looking forward to the next video ~

  • @liztheinfinite It totally depends on how you draw a circle, myself I don't like doing clean lineart digitally. So when I draw in photoshop I would usually sketch a circle with several strokes. One thing that I forgot to mention in this video is the rotation tool - which is available in CS4 and CS5. Rotating your picture while drawing might help you out a bit.

  • what program are you using to record your desktop?

  • @djwaglmuffin Believe it or not, but I use Quicktime. Apparently it has a pretty okay screen-recording.

  • "a very heavy Swedish accent"

I love how that line sounds.

  • Im still up after reading so many of your tutorial lessons. Now that I found out you have a youtube, Im gonna have to stay up even longer. and I had no idea how cute you were. I kind of pictured you being like my old art teacher at 1st

  • " Oh yeah, booyah, booyah, booyah! " LOOOOL :'D

  • lmao omg your accent is so cute!!

  • Maaaann I was hoping it would be in Corel! Oh well, my sister has CS5 and I might get a new computer for christmas which could run both!

  • Great video!! super informative, cant wait for the next one! :)

but i have a question: when i try to pan the image with my stylus in photoshop, the image always returns back to the middle..

  • To fix the fill problem:

The background layer is locked. Unlock it by double clicking on the layer and pressing OK. Pressing backspace now should clear the layer.
