Nothing to really see, more of an observation.

Everyone surely is familiar with Funiculì, Funiculà" even if they don't know the name. It is a famous song written by Italian journalist Peppino Turco and set to music by Italian composer Luigi Denza in 1880. Now the Luigi part is a coincidence but would including a bit of this song be composer Alan Silvestri's way of touching the Italian theme of the Super Mario Bros in the score? Just a thought!

  • Great find! It's probably intentional, the Mario Brothers are supposed to be from italian descent, and Silvestri himself has italian roots.

  • I loved the movie. I still do in fact. I don't mind the mistakes, seeing how the bright colorful world of the mushroom kingdom seen in the games would have looked weird in live action.

  • Definitely intentional. One does not do this by accident.
