This songs actually talking about how the singer took the "sweet life" but then in the end, looked at the woman with the child and wish she had taken that route instead, the better route. Its not saying anything about either be a whore or be a mother. She's saying, " you know what, I took this thing you think is the sweet life but and found out it's not sweet at all. I wish I was smarter about things and did what you did instead".
