another music student, coming from korea, giving a performance of the traditional korean harp, called koto, quite similar to the japanese koto (please watch the other clip showing a short impression of the japanese koto)
she is also wearing traditional clothes, for this is a common way to perform traditional music at the tokyo geidai (art academy)

MMcLuhan06, this instrument has nothing to do with Koto. It's Geomungo which is played with a stick, Suldae, so sounds deeper and heavier than Gayageum.

Thank you. Yes, it is a Komungo and most interesting by the way. I love its timbre in the lower tonalities, it can be very strong and powerful.

I will have to agree with both previous comments, this instrument is NOT a Koto. It does however belong to the zither family but it is native to Korea and not Japan. And yes, the lady is wearing a native Hanbok from Korea, which one would probably wear to a performance like this one just as one would wear a Kimono to a similar performance in Japan.
