After more than five months, Kenya finally got an electoral body. President Mwai Kibaki formally appointed the nine member team that will constitute the interim independent electoral commission. The team whose chair will be lawyer Ahmed Issac Hassan replaces the Samuel Kivuitu-led ECK that was disbanded last December after it mismanaged the 2007 general election. This came as parliament adopted the list of proposed members of the interim independent boundaries review commission to be chaired by former Vihiga Mp Andrew Ligale.
