We bought a 2012, It's the best car we've owned and yes it sucks gas like there is a hole in the tank! Smoking fast, great daily ride quality and great interior.

This thing is surely impressive. Of course anyone wanting speed and poise would probably be better off with an M3 and then buy an X5 3.0d for space and practicality. The body control of this SUV is impressive for something that size. That said, it pays the price in ride quality and sub 20mpg consumption. Impressive engineering but an answer to a question no one ever asked.
