It's like Kevin stole him from another movie, that could have been awesome, and was like 'SCREW THE SCRIPT, DO STUFF.' It bothered me.
Also. Waste of Mr. Goodman. Like really, it could have been a great film if it had stuck to a bit of coherency - Remove the stupid alpha male 'BONE STUFF WOO!' characters and replace them with people who make good foils for the particular brand of hate this church feels .. and cut out the whole stand off with the cops thing.
I think at times Red State shows signs of how good it could have been. The concept is good and sometimes I felt like it was going to show something special. It just didn't. I didn't hate it though, but was sorely disappointed. The sermon from the lead villain went on far too long, the characters who the audience was supposed to like were entirely unlikeable (which is a major problem in this sort of flick) and I just thought there were so many missed opportunities. Nice review sir.
Micheal Parks was awesome.
