@MoxleyMauser Hey, how is your progress on getting a cello? Has the 2 years that have passed been any good to you?

I began violin on my 8th birthday in 1972. I played for high school musicals and 2 community orchestras. Severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) began in 1990. Playing a violin became an unbearable chore. So I quit violin 1998-2009. August 2009 I picked up the one violan (electric violin+viola) that I had not given away for one last attempt. I began to play it like a cello and am now having fun with it since, although it is still hard not to touch 2 strings at once.

What the hell do you know about the cello? She is holding it correctly.

Just go for it. Buy one!! It's the most fun you can have by yourself. Seriously.

She has incorrect posture. the 'C peg" should be near you ear not behind it and as mentioned the neck should NEVER rest on the shoulder. You can also tell she's slouching forward look as her shoulders and side, they're not straight or 'opened'.

there is not one 'correct' position. i realise this is a 'basics' video, but come on. do what feels right for you, as long as you can comfortably do everything you should be able to do.
