  • I have it toooooo! It is my right eye that is affected, it doesn't bother me at all but my friends find it fascinating!

  • @RobertaBeeStephens Do you talk about it openly with your friends? I have never talked about it with my friends I know they probably wonder but none of my close friends ever talk about it I tihnk they just accept me for it.

  • Thank you to everyone for watching, sharing, and all of the positive feedback! I am hoping to post another video soon to acuratley display my winking movements a little better. Again if you have and questions feel free to message me I will respond! Thanks again for being so open and supportive.

  • How did the surgery go?

  • @bjtforever Hello! I am sorry for the late rsponse. My surgery went well. I got it done when I was in 1st grade I do not remember much. I was in the hospital overnight for one day . I had what is called "Bilateral Sling" done. It does not correct the problem but it raises the eyelid. Before surgery my eyelid covered half of my eye, after surgery it is only slighly droopy and I have complete control over it . Any questons or comments feel free to ask. Hope this helped!

  • Hello, do you can explain me better what kind of surgery did you have, for both eyes or just for one of those, I heard about a kind of surgery that connect the muscles of eyelides with another muscle in the front of the head and you can have a simmetric use of your eyes. I had a surgery too before, but was just for rise my eyelide, but nothing change. The worst part is to force my muscle to rise one eyelide, because sometimes it fall up my pupil, it make me a big eadache.

    Thanks

  • Oh my gosh finally someone has the same problem! I have been picked on it for ever!

  • I'm from Italy... my name is Antonio... we are a lot of people sharing the same problem... come on people join us in a big family :) everyone of you is beautiful :)

  • Yeah, I have MGJWS in my right eye and it's been that way since I was born. I'm 14 years old and I've made a video of mine as well. Just check out my channel.

  • hey you're cute :) . I too have an Marcus gunn on my left eye since birth day one ... cheers

  • @DanaGirl21 No problem! :) Do you ever have days where the eyelid appears more "lazy" than other days? For some reason certain days on rare occasions my eyelid on my MGJW eye can almost be completely shut. Other days it looks normal and some days even more open than my non MGJW eye.

  • Im 35 and I have this as well. I had severe MGJWS in left eye. There were no surgeries at the time, nor were there any surgeons who would attempt one. When i was 3 my mom took me 2 an amazing surgeon at Wilmers Eye Inst in Johns Hopkins Hosp. His name was (this is no joke) Dr. Nicholas Iliff.(pronounced eye-liff) He invented and preformed a bilateral sling that helped with the drooping and lessened the wink. Worked great.I go in for a "Tune Up" evry 5 yrs. lol Not a cure but a 100% improvement.

  • @DanaGirl21 Yeah infact I showed it to my whole class today as we were talking about eye conditions in biology. Never be embarressed about your condition, there is nothing wrong with you it just makes you unique Mine is quite mild and it isnt that noticable until I really tense my jaw :) go onto my account and you can see a video of me wiggling my eye about! x
