I used to make my own rockets, but I always pointed them away from people or property. I also had a 400 foot clearance in circumference around my launch point. I was testing different yields and star compositions at that stage. I liked some of the interesting effects which can be achieved at the second stage burst. I also improved on the rocket so that it did not have to point at an angle but could travel straight up. I like the common sense advice contained with these videos.
