If this is being remade then I bet we will see it out at that time. I wouldn't be surprised that the studio who owns the rights to this doesn't know about it. The rights have probably changed hands so many times that nobody is sure who owns it.
Synapse is putting part 2 back out on DVD in September.

I totally agree with you, Ed. There is no reason why The Stepfather should not be on DVD. Like eerietube said, there's probably some kind of rights issue keeping it from being released. The sex with a pornstar comment, I can't stand by, though. They're professionals at what they do.

i dont think 3 is on dvd, i thought it was only 2, i may be wrong though.
if theyre remaking stepfather, than it most likely will be out on dvd soon...

I know of this movie that is for sure. I vividly remember seeing it on the shelf at the video store back when Evil Dead 2 scared me ( wow that takes me back). I have heard things and dammit I want to see it too and I have know idea what I am missing.

Couldn't agree more with this video,a staple of my hbo horror watching days when I was younger.
Not sure why it has never been released it's alot better than most of the shit they do release.

I agree Ed, there's no reason why The Stepfather should not be on DVD -- at least a Region 1 version. Must be some type of rights issue for US/Canada.

I watched these movies on tv alot as a kid then watched it uncut and found out it has the best shower scene ever filmed.
