SIQuant MobileTrails no Parque Nacional Peneda-Gerês

SIQuant MobileTrails is a computer-based solution for PDA (Personal Digital Assistants) or PocketPC to
support and complement the experience of sightseeing, walking in the parks, urban centres and historic
cities. Taking advantage of the integration of geographic maps and additional location-based equipment
(GPS equipment), MobileTrails can detect the location of the user at any given time, providing suitable
alerts and tourist information services with high quality, combining the state of the art of technology to
the preservation and dissemination of heritage, history and cultural appealing information.
MobileTrails is complemented with a Web-based application, the SIQuant WebTrails, which supports the
autonomous management of all contents involved (e.g., text, images, sounds, maps), by different
stakeholders according to a flexible access control policy. In the end, these contents can be exported
continuously in an open XML-based format, updated in the PDA, and finally viewed and used again as part
of MobileTrails solution.
