Why does the map look differnt from the normal map when your flying? do you have to beat the game to get bum rush? or can you get it before you beat the game? please reply!

You don't have to beat the game to get Bumrush, and I don't understand the map question.

Originally it was known as Bum Rush in the original SNES translation, but was later renamed to Phantom Rush, thanks to the refined translation.
