The pair started their careers billed as "Tom & Jerry", and they even had a minor hit with a song called "Hey, Schoolgirl" in 1957. But it wasn't until the mid-60's that a song they had recorded called "Sounds Of Silence" got reworked and made into a hit that the duo, now calling themselves Simon & Garfunkel", found some long-lasting success. They had been greatly influenced early on by the music of the Everly Brothers, and their harmonizations on many of their songs are reminiscent of some of the Everly's great work. "April Come She Will" was actually recorded in late 1965, included on their first album "Sounds of Silence", but got very little notice until their music was used in the Mike Nichols' 1967 film, "The Graduate".

  • I love this song. It's one of those songs that makes you feel alone in a good way if that makes sense. "Tears Go By" by The Rolling Stones also gives me that feeling.

  • "Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me"

  • Why can't we all quit bitching at each other on these comment feeds? Why can't we all just dig the beautiful music and quit trying to stir up controversy? I mean, come on, it's Simon and Garfunkel for crying out loud. Take all that to some beiber video...

  • rheingold Beer gose great with this song

  • @MrNINTENDOJOE Totally digging your vantage point... but... I am somewhere afloat in my dad's DNA as he reads 1951 racy novel of "case history" strokeage and am STILL getting the vibes of this tune as Paul looks at Art and wonders, " Is this guy ok or what?"

  • @fritzquarar I'm in the fucking womb and i love this music!

  • Thumbs up if you'll remember by September

  • Thanks for posting this beautiful, sad little song, which I hadn't heard for many years. I love its reference to the wheel of the year slowly turning. Perhaps it could have completed the circle by returning to the fullness of April, so that it ends in rebirth rather than death. Just a thought.
