Then again, if he knew how to fly a propper traffic pattern instead of racking it in so tight from base to final, it would have looked all the more easier.

'Um ... looks pretty normal to me. We just flew in and out of the "abandoned" runway on North Fox Island, Michigan in a BN2 ... less than 400' takeoff roll. :-) AMAZING aircraft!

I'd hardly call that a runway. It seemed more like a long driveway. :-)
Also, I noticed what looked like debris all over the runway. Could that have been the remains of the previous plane that attempted to land there?
