I really liked your visuals of an ocean seperating the "inside" and the "outside." Before I was diagnosed with DID, I used to say "I feel like my head is above a dark lagoon; I can see everything above the water, but nothing below it...and sometimes I feel something brushing against me under the surface, but I don't know what it is." Well, now I do. And *we* do.

This is lovely...quite a good description of the switching process...for me, i stopped drowning when i gave up the struggle...the other parts of 'me' are just as real and want 'outside' time also.

@fairylightsrising Thank you. I respect my others a lot and try to give them time out as much as possible when they want it..I guess switching still scaires me coz I don't know what's gonna happen even tho I trust almost all of my others
